Playing with @BaseballHQ data & image overlays in @Tableau

Saw a neat feature yesterday at the Calgary Tableau User Group meeting (#CalgaryTUG), where a presenter showed a bar graph with image overlay “shaping” the bars. Had to try that out so I downloaded data from MasterNotes columnist @Patrickdavitt (see his 3rd column about positive and negative batted ball outcomes here, and make sure you listen to his excellent podcasts about #fantasybaseball), did a bit of clean up and created a baseball-player cookie cutter image to overlay the bar graphs showing percentages of negative results in 2016 for a few players:


I think this looks pretty neat and I’m sure I will be use that in the near future!
